Each lesson contains:

• A chained list of 10 words for the phonic rule and sound targets for the lesson.

• An explanation for the phonic rule illustrated in the word list.

• A teacher copy of the leveled reading story for the lesson.

• A student copy of the leveled reading story for the lesson.

• A student work page for auditory tracking [blending, segmenting, manipulating, and writing phonemes in words from the word list]

• A student work page for answering comprehension questions about the leveled story.

In addition, the package includes teaching suggestions for spelling practice, repeated reading exercises, 7 sight word game sheets, 10 phonic rule cards for long and short vowel sounds, and a table of alternative spelling patterns for long and short vowel sounds.
